About Us
The Association of British, Irish, and Scandinavian Retirees in Slovenia is a non-governmental organization that brings together retirees from Great Britain, Ireland, and Scandinavia who live or plan to live in Slovenia. Our fundamental goal is to facilitate the relocation, integration, and quality living of Northern European retirees in Slovenia and to encourage connection and cooperation with local communities.

The Association is the central support network for British, Irish, and Scandinavian retirees who are relocating or already living in Slovenia.
Purpose of the Association
Sustainable care models: Develop sustainable and innovative models for long-term care and support for elderly people, especially in the form of housing cooperatives
Relocation support: Facilitate the relocation of foreign retirees to Slovenia, including legal, administrative, and social support
Social integration: Encourage the integration of foreign retirees into Slovenian society and local environments
Regional development: Contribute to the development of local communities by revitalizing rural and demographically threatened areas
Service connections: Connect members with services needed for quality living and act as an intermediary in their implementation
TASKS OF THE ASSOCIATION
1. Information and Consulting
Comprehensive support: Informing and advising retirees before, during, and after relocation to Slovenia
Translation services: Providing translation services and advice regarding Slovenian legislation and practice
Administrative assistance: Assistance in obtaining residence permits, health insurance, and handling tax matters
2. Housing and Real Estate Support
Property search: Assistance in finding and managing suitable housing units, with the possibility of trial residence
Housing cooperatives: Support in establishing and operating housing cooperatives
Mediation: Collaboration between members and external real estate service providers
3. Integration and Inclusion
Documentation: Assistance with documentation, housing solutions, and integration into the local environment
Foreign language materials: Creating content and materials in foreign languages for better understanding of the Slovenian system
Local integration: Mediation in finding real estate, care, legal assistance, and other services
4. Cultural and Social Activities
Event organization: Preparation of social gatherings to encourage connections between members and local residents
Cultural presentation: Organization of events that present British, Irish, and Scandinavian culture
Culinary meetings: Preparation of traditional culinary meetings and tastings
5. Educational Activities
Language courses: Organization of Slovenian language and culture courses
Workshops: Conducting workshops on legislation, healthcare, and daily life in Slovenia
Informal education: Encouraging the inclusion of elderly people in informal education programs

Handbooks: Preparation of handbooks, brochures, and guides for retirees relocating to Slovenia
